Overview of available TRUexchange clients
To use TRUexchange, you can use one of following clients, depending on your operating system and browser configuration, and security considerations.
TRUexchange Web Client (without the use of Java)
This is the default client for new users of TRUexchange. If you do not want to use Java, you can install TRUexchange Web Client. The TRUexchange Web Client is supported on Microsoft Windows versions 8 and later. It is not supported on Mac computers.
TRUexchange Desktop Client
You can use TRUexchange Desktop Client instead of the web client, by installing the client on your computer and running it. The TRUexchange Desktop Client is supported only on Microsoft Windows. For more information, see TRUexchange Desktop User’s Guide.
TRUexchange Web Client (using Open Web Launch)
If your browser does not support applets and you use Java 11 or later, you can install the Open Web Launch extension for your browser and then connect to TRUexchange website. Open Web Launch is not supported on Mac computers.
TRUexchange Web Client (using Java Web Start)
If your browser does not support applets and you use a Java version earlier than 11, you can use Java Web Start to connect to the TRUexchange website from one of the following browsers:
- Google Chrome version 42 or later
- Mozilla Firefox version 52 or later
- Microsoft Edge
Java applets
If you use one of the following browsers that still support applets, you can connect to the TRUexchange website from your browser using Java applets.
- Google Chrome version before 42
- Mozilla Firefox version before 52
- Mozilla Firefox ESR version 52 or later
